I joined the NYC chapter of Women in Animation this September, and hopped on their Discord server to find they were warming up for Inktober. But something’s going on with the Inktober thing, so thankfully WIA made a prompt list of their own this year!

These were all done in Procreate on my iPad, taking from 15 minutes to two hours, depending on how much I was feeling it. These are all obvs just sketches, and not finished works.

There’s nothing on the internet about Viking Husqvarna foot controls, so here.

This is a Viking Husqvarna 150. My mom got this in the early 80s before she had to deal with raising over-curious heathens like me. When I flew the nest in 2006 she let me take it.

The thing is like 40 lbs, built like a tank, and, while pretty dusty, I’m not surprised it still runs perfectly. You can tell it’s one of those objects that was built to last forever. I used it all the time, but one day it suddenly stopped running… the light was…

It was a quiet one, except for inside my head. That’s like every day.

I’m twelve days early for Hourly Comic Day, but I desperately needed a substitute for all the mad facebook posting and sharing I would have otherwise done. Whether or not boycotting social media would have made a huge impact, it was better for my personal well-being to stay away from the flood of negativity and sadness sporing from the events of inauguration day.
